BC2 lag issues with loading menus, revives etc

I'm having a problem with lag when I respawn, get revived, when the loadout menu comes up after I die, and going to the game menu while in game. When any of those things happen my screen freezes for about ~5 seconds, sometimes more sometimes less. EDIT: Shift+tabbing into the steam overlay also takes longer than it does for any other game.

Actual gameplay I run on full med/high graphics and it runs very smoothly, no issues at all and I'm sure I could go higher. This also happened to me during the beta and a lot of people don't have it so I'm sure it's on my end, I just have no idea what. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey mate..

Just wanted to let you know that you arent the only one with these sort of probs. The EXACT same thing happens to me all the time, and I'm rather sick of it.. I simply dont know what to do.. I've tried just about everything
