Make chat font size bigger.

Title says it all. I want text size to be bigger, is this possible?

I have a 1920x1200 res 24 inch screen, sometimes I like to lay back and I can usually zoom in on what ever I'm doing except steam so i have to lean forward/get out of position to read steam. This is really annoying.

Is there anyway I can make the font size in steam chat windows bigger, it's way to small if you're not close up.

you wont get a direct response straight away, until you do reduce your res as a temp fix

Why don't use just use something like the Firefox Add-On Stylish to tweak the forum, so that it fits your taste?

Not the forum, the steam client friends chat.

EDIT: Since this thread keeps getting bumped back from year 2010.. The folder is different than it was on Steam Beta UI 2010, the new folder is Steam\resource\styles\steam.styles
EDIT2: Its 2012 and still no easy way to change it..

If you are using Steam Beta UI 2010 go to Steam\resource\steam.styles or similar and open it with notepad/wordpad/text editor and find this;
Code:
	friends_chat_text
	{
		textcolor="text"
		selectedtextcolor="TextentrySelected"
		SelectedBgColor="focus"
		font-size=14
	}

	friends_chat_text_self
	{
		textcolor="ChatOwnTextColor"
		selectedtextcolor="TextentrySelected"
    		SelectedBgColor="focus"
    		font-size=14
	}

	friends_chat_event
	{
		textcolor="Text"
		font-size=14
	}

	friends_chat_url
	{
		textcolor="text"
		font-style=underline
		font-size=14
	}

	friends_chat_name_ingame
	{
		textcolor="Friends.InGameColor"
		font-size=14

	}

	friends_chat_self
	{
		textcolor="Friends.OnlineColor"
		font-size=14
	}

	friends_chat_name
	{
		textcolor="Friends.OnlineColor"
		font-size=14
	}

	friends_chat_accountid
	{
		textcolor="text"
		font-size=14
	}

	friends_chat_securitylink
	{
		textcolor="text"
		bgcolor="none"
		font-family=basefont
		font-size=14
		font-weight=400
		font-style=underline
	}
And change font-size for those (and others if needed)

This works really well, but I couldn't figure out how to change the font size of the text in the dialogue input box. That would be helpful as well.

Had to bump this to the top, thanks for the help. Small font on a 32" HD TV 1920x1080 is way too small to read. Font 18 works like a charm!

The file is now in a subfolder called 'styles' and to change the entry-box font, go to style:

TextEntry
{
font-family=basefont
font-size=14
textcolor="Text"
font-weight=400
bgcolor="none"
selectedtextcolor="white"
selectedbgcolor="TextSelectedBG"

Dont forget to restart Steam. Valve should have made this easier a long time ago.

Why is this STILL the easiest way to do this? It gets reset every time steam updates!
