Well after reading up on all the possible solutions for the problems experienced by other users, I have finished a solution guide with a list of problems and possible solutions. If there is a solution or problem not on the guide, please post here or comment on the guide so I can update it for future KOTOR fans.
Solution Guide for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Tell me what you think of it. I give credit to Sweetz for his fixing of the 64-bit problem, since he made a guide for how to fix that. |

Thanks for the spyware link, dbag.
Edit: My mistake, possibly. When I first clicked it a couple weeks ago, it took me to a random search engine and my Avast went off and terminated connection. Clicked just now and it was good. Last edited by Dekertt927: 04-21-2010 at 07:13 AM. |

I don't see any spyware... I just see advertising his own site. I'll leave it unless I have proof.

You mention setting the affinity to single core, however what you are suggesting is a temporary fix only and must be done each time you play the game.
If you want a permanent fix, you'll want to download imagecfg. This will allow you to modify the .exe file to automatically run on a single core of your choosing whenever the game starts. Once you download the file, you'll want to place it in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. Once there, just follow the instructions on the site where you download it to set the affinity. Note: If you keep getting errors in the command prompt, search for "run" under the start menu and type the line of code (imagecfg -a c:\path\to\file.exe) into the run prompt. |

Doesn't work for this game, I've already tried it. Swkotor.exe just throws up an error, and won't even start. Not sure what they did with the Steam version, but you cannot use imagecfg on it.
