Will Portal 2 be part of a new orange box ?

On the GI site for the game it says its going to be a standalone full price retail game so I doubt it.

Yeah and i just saw another thread on it.. It looks like it wont come out :/ But damn it could be great!!!

And lots of money to save for the 50 euro or what such thing would cost

Wouldn't you expect Portal 2 to be closer to the length of a full game if its going to be sold solo, and especially announced nine months out from release? I guess it very well could be but I would rather hope its part of another upcoming package.

Well i would without doubt have a package like orange box then stand alone games..

Tf2 alone has alot of hours you can play, and there where 4 other games beside that wich all where great so that's much more fun!!!

Well if they make a new cs soon i hope they will take all the good things from games like mw and bad company and add their own stuff to the game so it will be fun with lots of progress achiments and so on..!

I don´t think there will be multiple releases with Portal2. By releasing Portal 2, they will spare, take more time, for the release of HL2-EP3 to the end of 2011 and Portal 2 will be played as a kind of side episode for the HL series.
From a commercial point of view we have, in each year, L4d, l4d2, Portal2 and HL2 ep3 in 2011.
Also, this way, they can focus a bigger number of people working for each release.

These two combined was my guess...however, the announcement appears to indicate that it will be a stand alone game, which will tick people off, since it continues to look like Half Life 2: Espisode 3 will never be made, let alone Half Life 3. It also better either be cheap ($20ish) or much longer than the original if it's a stand alone.
