I don't think that Valve wants thousands of people emailing them about the same bug. It's much easier to get all the major bugs out of the way before doing an open beta, that way they can focus on the stuff that wasn't found in the small test group, if that makes sense.

When it comes out, will this thread continue to skyrocket through the roof? Or will the release of Steam on Mac kill it? Why must we kill to move on?

i'll be very depressed if steam doesn't release anything at all.

Dont get me wrong i like the idea of steam games coming for mac, but really in my opinion i think that steam gaming will always lie at the heart of windows, to me it seems ooc for seing steam games on a mac...

If a Mac section of the forums is put up, this thread will die, if not, it will continue to skyrocket. this thread will be used for mac games/mods on steam.

Methinks there will not be a new forum opening for mac specific stuff. but who knows. Not a lot of people thought games were going to come to the mac.

The games I would really like to see that arent on source on os x are these:

Battlefield 2
Bioshock
Company of Heroes
Killing Floor
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series
Serious Sam HD
Torchlight
Unreal Tournament 3

Bioshock is ported to mac already, clicky!
Wouldn't be hard for valve to add that to their store.

Do people think that the games that run with DOSBox on Windows would be available for Mac? Would love to run Star Wars: Dark Forces without Boot Camp/Parallels.

Dunno, but DOSBox does have a Mac version.
