Problem with OpenGL (no menu, no game) - Windows 7 x64
Hi there.
I'm CS1.6 player. I was playing on XP very well, but now I have Windows 7 Pro x64 - and I can't play my lovely CS... ![]() I have lenovo laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 RAM: 2048MB Graphic: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family (max 358MB). Firstly I couldn't run CS in OpenGL mode. So I have reinstalled windows drivers for graphic card and install the only one for win7 x64 form intel page. Now I can run it in open GL, but I see only the main screen form the menu without any text in menu, without console. I have heard the moving on the text, but I didn't see that... When I put into launch options "-console" and use command "connnect IP_OF_SERVER" then I am on server, I heard all the game, but I still see only the main screen form menu... I read this: http://supportwiki.steampowered.com/...in_Steam_menus but it didn't help. Reinstall CS and drivers - done, without effects... I was trying on drivers for Vista too... I can play on D3D or software mode, but it's so lagged and it's just horrible... OpenGL - it's the only one way for me... Please, help me, because I like to play CS, but I don't want to go back to Windows XP only for CS... I want to play CS on Windows 7... Sorry for language mistakes, JSokol P.S. All the software are legal. All actualizations - done. |

And your second post isn't exactly about my problem.. unfortunately... I see that I can only wait for "God-like" update form Valve, who will repair all mistakes :| But Valve should do "something" to help us... |

Are you getting the error "this video mode is not supported. this program will now run in software mode"? I'm posting here too because I'm getting this error and your problem sounds really similar to mine. I can run the game on Software & D3D but after years of playing CS, I want my OpenGL. I'm also running on Windows 7 64-bit.
I've also tried to put "-gl" on launch commands but it doesn't work. I haven't been able to find a fix for this either :/ AMD Athlon II X4 620 2,6 GHz 4GB DDR 1333 MHz ATI Radeon 5770 1GB DDR5 You ain't alone! |

Hi.
I didn't find anything to fix this problem. I haven't Win7 now. I use Linux "normally" and "clear XP" only for CS :P So that's my "solution" for that. Linux for all thing, and WinXP only for CS
