In addition, the Steam version will no longer have SecuROM.

The patch is going through Steam compatibility testing as soon as possible.

The patch is backward compatible. (We are not updating the servers, only the game clients.) So old & new game clients can play with each other.

I didn't even know Steam had SecureRom for BC2 in the first place.

EDIT - does that mean we can use our Steam KEYS on the Retail version without needing the DVD in the drive?

Bet it was causing some kind of issue with the steam version. I doubt they remove it just to be nice.

When you look into your game folder, there you can find te paul.dll, it's part of the securom

I didn't read any fixes for the random crashes in general. I love having a broken game that I can play 20 minutes at a time.

Awesome! It's good to see developers realizing that there is no reason to add 3rd party DRM to Steam games!

just updated now. amazing job guys!!! i can finally play the game instead of watching menu's. lol.

edit: lol. i can log in in 5 secs including updating stats. lol. i can find a game in 1 min... connect instant if there's room. awsome! still no M1 garand..

No secure rom Thank God. I feel so worried when I need to uninstall and reinstall games because of that.
