Firewalker DLC pretty "meh"

Just played the firewalker dlc and so far its pretty meh. You cant even get close enough to the Colossus to do the combat like they showed in trailers because the Hammerhead is so damn weak, you take a few bullets and your on fire so you have to retreat.

Least some of the jumps are fun I guess.

Just thought id vent.

Never even see any of your chars really too. I even nearly got killed by a standard Geth Prime in 2 hits. (Hardcore diff) or whatever its called, second hardest.

Hopefully Kasumi is better.

What are you talking about? I'm ramming Collossi left and right. I even pushed one into acid.

*spoilers*

I was disappointed that in the two times you leave the Hammerhead to enter some buildings, you didn't get to fight anyone.

I was so expecting some Geth when that place was about to fall apart... and nothing.

I can't even pass the first level with the Hammerhead because the controls are somehow ed up. In the beginning it tells me to use "right mouse click" to pick up research but it doesn't work. It also tells me to press "left shift" to jump although it's done with "e". But so far I had no luck finding the real key binding for picking up the stuff. Used all keys I have. Anf for the record I also never changed the default settings before. It's just buggy ...

Had that issue too. When it tells you to Right Click and it failed, I checked the key binds (cause I use defaults anyways) and saw E to Jump, and V (not right click which is camera zoom) to Mine.

This was a pretty hyped DLC but was very... meh too. Not enough action though the tank was fun.

And wtf was with that M44 on the volcano planet? You can see it but do nothing with it?

I had the exact same problem as you two, but I rebound the keys and everything was fine.

Anyway, yeah, not exactly a good DLC, but hey, it's FREE. I can't really complain if I didn't have to pay for it.

That said, I hope Kasumi is better, seeing as how I DO have to pay for that one.

I honestly think it was a good DLC: it introduces a controlable vehicle into the game (which unlike MAKO, is fun to control), it offers a fun new gameplay mechanic, the story, even if it lacks a good "punch", is not bad at all, and for those who have finished this awesome game it offers another chance to revisit it.

Yes, all of us missed gunfights in the scenes on foot. Yes, the key bindings are messed up. Yes, there is no voice acting, except for the vehicle AI. Yes, it is not THAT long. Yes, the story will not win an oscar for the best script.

But guess what: IT'S FREE. Just enjoy it guys.

I thought it was fun. There was a lot of attention to detail, especially in the snow zone, and I think there's a ton of potential for the Hammerhead to be used in future DLCs that cross over ground exploration and vehicular combat a bit more.

One thing I did miss were squad comments though. Poor Garrus only gave one or two of his generic lines. Also the only rewards were minerals, which we can't really use if we already finished the game and researched everything.

The Firewalker pack is absolute garbage IMO. I'm very disappointed with it, and I'd be pretty angry if I had actually had to pay for it.

I feel like BioWare lost sight of what made the original Mass Effect so great. This feels like generic action shooter crap, and there's no mid mission checkpoints so if you screw up you go back to the squad select screen. And from what I can tell there's little to no squad dialogue.

Hard to believe this is from the same company that designed the excellent Bring Down the Sky DLC. If this is the quality of DLC we can expect, I probably won't be downloading the Kasumi one.

I don't mind. it's free (as a part of cerberus member). it's ok. I wish that Bioware add more battle on the ground (not just search for data or mining). well, I can't wait for Kasumi DLC anyway.

Not at all. If anything, I'm flattered. Sorry I have higher standards than you, but you don't need to be threatened, I don't bite

Your standards can't be that high if you thought Bring Down the Sky was "excellent".

At best, it was slightly above average.
