I have retail, friends have Steam...

I bought BC2 retail limited edition, and my friends got it off of Steam. I had them try and join the same server as me, but when one joined, I got booted. When both of them joined, I tried to join again... and got the 'connection failed' error. What's the deal? It worked on a hardcore server....

I bought my copy off Steam and play with friends who bought theirs retail... no problems whatsoever. Definately not that that's causing your problem. How often has this happened?
