1 file fails validating, But does not reacquire it

http://www.leductech.com/steamerror.jpg

I tried validating Aliens vs Predator, it always comes up with 1 file failed to validate. It indicates that it will reacquire it, but heck, it does not do so...

Any suggestions? Please hopefully not a full re download, that would suck big time.

Regards,

That would be weird, any steam officials, moderators that can confirm this hypothesis?

Da ping said so himself when the patch came out.

Search for threads regarding the patch 3 when it came out.

Was just trying to help.............

Go ahead and redownload it if you want.

Finding more than one file, would be abnormal. Have not heard whether or not the users affected by falling out of world were missing any ".pc" files, but I highly suspect that to be the case. Would be nice to know for sure.

Regards,
Dude, I am so glad someone else has this problem besides me. I bought the game at Best Buy. I installed it, I restarted my computer. I verified the cache, and it was 100% every time I verified it.

Then the 3rd patch came out, and only 1 file fails to validiate (just like you). It says that it will reaquire the file, and it even notifies me that the file had been downloaded, but when I verify it again, 1 file is still missing!

I've restarted my client and verified the cache. Then restarted the computer and opened up the client and verified the cache, heck I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the game and still the same problem.

And you know what? In multiplayer games I've fallen off the edge of the world a few times, after everything I did. So whatever file is missing, I need it cause I can't be falling through the floors and ceilings into the void and losing points. Its justnot nice.

oh, and sorry for the wall of text.
