Demo and retail on the same PC?

i have Torchlight in my Steam. recently my room-mate logged in to his Steam account on my computer. then Torchlight showed up as demo and he played it as demo for some time.

now i'm worried would that affect my savegames? i haven't launched Torchlight since then because i'm afraid the wrong savegames would be synched to the cloud.

I don't think it should. They should have two different folders under your Steamapps.

they exist in the same folder: %Appdata%\Runic games but under different profiles. i think as long as your friend doesn't try to load your character (savegame) in the demo, you'll be fine.
