What is the difference between buddy or friend?

What is the difference between buddy or friend?

Also, I tried to add someone, not "someone", someone with a user name that was something other than "someone" on steam as a friend but steam says they do not exist. Trouble with that is they do exist, or at least they think they exist. Does that mean that the someone with a name other than someone is noone or anyone or perhaps they are simply a glitch or maybe a nonglitch in the system?

How and why do the buddy or friend systems function separately?

Where are you seeing it on the profile page though? . . .

I only see "Add to your friends list".

I do not see add to friends list anywhere on website. If I click on a username one of the options is add to your buddy list. To add to friends list I right click steam in the taskbar notification area then click friends.

The Buddy function refers to the forum and the Friend function refers to Steam.

To be honest I'm not sure the Buddy function works as intended.

Yeah, SUF and Steam accounts are separate things.

Speaking of which, what's the point in the buddy function here anyway?
