(Woo another thread asking about this.)
Whenever I try to start the game, The splash screen appears and the screen goes black like it's about to play. But I get an error that states: General protection fault! History: GMatrix2D::Swap() Address = 0x10bb5c66 (filename not found) [in c:\program filex (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\mass effect\Binaries\MassEffect.exe] Address = 0x14353ee4 (filename not found) If anyone received an error like this and was able to rectify it, please help. (or anyone who knows how to fix it.) My system specs are: OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, build 6001) Graphics: Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset Chip Type: Intel(R) 4 Express Chipset Family RAM: 4GB (To be exact, 4060MB.) My DirectX version is 10. So, once again, Please help. |

Filename not found, this indicates a file is corrupted I think. First thing you should try is to verify the game cache and defrag it if it's fragmented.

I'm pretty sure you won't be playing ME on that onboard chip though. |

And if you're really uncomfortable doing it yourself, find a local PC repair shop (not the big-box stores, find someone small), who will usually install it for you for a nominal fee (sometimes for free, if you buy it from them, but that's unlikely).
