Steam on iPad?

Just wondering, now that Steam is going Mac compatible, can the iPad run Steam, and if so, could it run some fairly simple games?

Would it be fast enough to even run, say, Half Life 2?

Playing HL2 on a touchpad would be pure hell.

EDIT: Dunno though, Has the iPad got built in graphics?

maybe some low end stuff as they have / will have plants vs zombies app I'm thinking anything that runs on a netbook you can buy on steam will run with at least some success.

Edit: any game that will run and won't drive you mad with touch only ;D

What would be the point? Games get sold on the App store.

Apple would never allow an App that sold other Apps... They just recently started to allow "micro transactions", but that's about it.

It's against the SDK Agreement - an application is not allowed to download and run executable code. I would however like a games-less client for iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad.

Folks, you had your chance at iPad bashing in this thread.

Now give it a rest and stay on topic.

Thank you.

Found it.

Steam for Macs will run on OS X. iPad uses the iPhone OS. Good luck trying to install.

Well, that rules everything out Steam stands for, besides the community features.

I doubt you could play any average game on that thing, it doesn't even handle flash.

If you need a small device to play games better get a netbook or a laptop. Don't fall for the ipad hype, it'll disappoint you if you are a gamer.
