EFLC Fatal Error?

Hey, bought the new DLC from Steam a couple days ago, installed it last night, and whenever I try and launch the game, this pops up:

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g4...GTAIVSTEAM.jpg

It's confusing...I bought the game legit, yet it's almost saying I don't have it? Also, I have Windows Vista, not XP...not sure why it says that either.

All my driver are up to date, I've verified game cache/reinstalled, and still nothing works. To give you an idea, my computer can run games such as Mass Effect 2/Dragon Age/Left 4 Dead 2 on the highest settings, so it's not a piece of junk at all.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Really? No one can help us?? Unless someone can help us, or point us in the direction of someone who can, our 30 bucks has gone down the drain...

same (sort of*)

Windows 7 x64
6GB RAM
EVGA nVidia geForce 9800GTX+ 1GB (196.21) - No SLi

Other: GTA IV steam version installed (same acc.)

Something interesting:
After i validated the gamefiles, game showed as 100% (so it did before the validation already). I then attempted another launch of ELC but this time steam started to download another ~1.1GB of files.
http://madmakz.com/gallery/Screensho...act_redown.jpg

I belive this has something to do with the SecuROM activation.

Note that i HAD TO validate the gamefiles first before the additional download came up and started, after i had done the activation and tried to start ELC a coupple of times (Fatal error).
(Restarting steam might trigger the same, haven't tested)

ATM it´s still downloading (slow net) will report back what, or what not, happens after the dl finished.

*forgot to make a screenshot :S

Run the LaunchEFLC.exe in compatibility mode, Windows 2000 or Vista.

So wait...you verified the game cache, and then it started downloading another file? I've done that a couple times over the past hour (while resetting Steam a couple times) and still nothing is coming up for me.

Correct, verified and then started the game. Then the steam "game update" dialog came up and started to download.

After this download finished, and then doing a launch of the game triggert the "1st time setup" to start, wich brought the standart stuff like Visualruntime, DirectX updates and something that was called "steam secuROM Activation". (There was no 1st time setup before i verified and had the additional download)

After that the game launched fine, played a coupple of Lost missions and got , so far, no issues anymore.

Yeah, none of that helped mine work either...although I did find an alternate way of running it.

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv episodes from liberty city\EFLC , Then find "LaunchEFLC", and then it works for me.

Not sure if I'm missing out on anything in game by doing it this way, though.
