VGA Cable?

I recently bought a VGA monitor cable so that I can play PC games on my TV. It works for all Monkey Island games except for the special edition. I know for Tales I had to change the resolution for it to work on the TV, but nothing like that has helped start the special edition. Does anyone know if it's possible to play the game using a VGA cable? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

the game is probably running at an unsupported resolution for you TV. Put the game as 1024x768 and rise it till it crashes or something
