Hi - having just picked up the Steam version of Vice City in the sales, I tried to use my save games from the old retail version, which I sold years back. They don't appear compatible - that's corroborated by the fact that downloaded save games don't work either. I must have played this game through about five or six times in total now, and don't really want to start from the beginning.
Has anyone got a Steam-compliant 100% save? Or, even better, know how to convert between the retail and Steam saves? Thanks in advance! |

Here's mine
100%, no cheats used, all done with the Steam version. Just place it in your Documents/GTA Vice City User Files folder.edit: I also have 100% saves for the Steam versions of GTA3 and San Andreas, if anyone wants them. Last edited by Blueberry_pie: 04-27-2010 at 08:41 AM. |

First of all - thanks!
Second, this is interesting - it works, as long as I delete the settings file before opening the game, and don't try and change the video settings in-game and then save. Otherwise it crashes and goes black. It's the draw distance and the resolution (1680x1050) that I'm trying to change - does anyone know why that's happening? [EDIT]OK, have narrowed it down to turning the frame limiter on and off. Anyone know what's happening here?[/EDIT] Last edited by PureSilver: 04-27-2010 at 09:16 AM. |

Damn, I was mistaken. Looks like I forgot to back that one up. Turns out I only have my Vice City and San Andreas saves. Sorry! Maybe someone else can help you.

Alright, here's the San Andreas save: http://www.filedropper.com/gtasasf1
100%, although I should note that some stats like gambling skill and weapon skill aren't maxed out. I also didn't bother with the optional girlfriend stuff, so you'll miss out on the rewards you get from that (nothing too major though, and you can always do it yourself if you want). |

It's more fun to earn the stuff yourself... The longer you play, the better you'll get to know the maps

Does anyone know if there is a Steam version of this save game? I love Vice City but hate the taxi/ambulance, package finding stuff as it's just boring. This guy made an awesome savegame with everything like that done but the story missions not started. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the Steam version.
