Tough descision.....

I have gta4 for the ps3, the online is okay but not as good as xbox's. How is the online on PC?

Also should I even bother buying this game with my low specs?

8600gt 512 vram.
P4 w/HT
3 gigs of ram

(I know there's spelling errors but I don't have enough time to correct them)

I wouldn't bother if you have a Pentium 4. The game really likes a Quad Core, though it can be fine on a Core 2 Duo with some fiddling.

It's fun, but players with "slow" computers are kicked from multiplayer matches.

Eh, that's up to you. If you don't mind low framerates and not so pretty graphics, go for it.

Yep, I pretty much play every game for the online. Back in the day when consoles had no way of playing online I was content with the 8bit single player mode.

But times have changed and now every game I buy, I start with the multiplayer. Hell half the games I own I haven't even touched the singleplayer.

My take on the PC vs. Console is that the graphics are far superior. The console looks like crap IMO. Not really even playable for me. I believe they got rid of the Rockstar Social Network requirement lately... that should make the game a bit more purchasable. Previously you had to install that annoying application to be able to play. Now you just have to install GFWL. Which is OK because it is the LIVE version and gives you gamerscore achievements.

The PC version looks better than the console version even at quite low settings. The trade-off is that you really do need a good-ish multi-core CPU.
