Steam Translation Language Groups & Language Applications
This is a list of all official Steam languages and their appropriate translators' group. Feel free to join your language's group. If you're a native English speaker, you can help out translating Steam into Pirate English. There will not be any more fake / joke languages.
If you think your native language should become an official Steam language, feel free to convince us / Valve. Scroll down ("Petitioning languages") for further information.
Official Steam languages (27*):
Unreleased Steam languages (1):
The following languages are currently being translated and are to be added to the official list of Steam languages. You can help out with their translation now; for more information, check out the appropriate group's description and visit translation.steampowered.com.
Petitioning languages (18):
Many languages have not made it to Steam yet. If you think your language should be added to Steam, feel free to create a group and get a movement in your language's community going, so that Valve knows that there are people that would voluntarily help to translate Steam into your native language. If you're lucky, your language might be added to Steam one day.
The Translators' Lounge is our international meeting place. It's invite-only, since we want to keep it clean. If you would like to join, just ask one of your language's translators. You may also contact me via PM. As a special feature, the Translators' Lounge automatically posts announcements on the arrival of new strings on STS, this way you will always be up-to-date without much of a hassle. If you prefer Twitter or RSS Feeds over Steam, you may also follow our official Twitter account or subscribe to our RSS feed.

I've added the Polish group. But it would be nice if you could make the group public, at least by the time the translation server goes public. (Everyone should be able to join and get in touch with a specific language's mods and other users, shouldn't they?) I also thought about adding all the TS mods to that list, but that might end in spam, on the other hand it could be useful for feedback.

For now keeping the groups private would be also ok - then when the server is public of course we should switch the groups public as well. I will alter all group-names at some point to include 'Steam'.

Sorry, I'm not an administrator of the group but I will definitely speak with him on the question of the avatar. I find it unacceptable too.
We had a completely different avatar yesterday, dunno why he changed it to this one.

I contacted the administrator of the group and he changed the avatar to a neutral one.
Currently, we are in process of creating a new visually similar to other groups avatar to unify the visual style of our translation group with others.
