Steam will not load

Ever since the new UI update came out, cannot start my steam. I get the error message "Fatal Error: Failed to Load Platform Modules"

I am running Windows 7 64 bit, and i have no problems with any games or other programs.

I also had to same problem, same error message, OS version etc. Uninstalling and reinstalling steam using the newest client download from http://store.steampowered.com/about/ has solved this for me.

EDIT: Just realised after doing this that all my installed games have been uninstalled too. Unfortunately, this means redownloading all games you want to play and not being able to back it up because we can't even load the client.
