Headphones
Hey I need some good suggestions on a good pair of headphones for gaming. I primarily play Counter Strike Source in ESEA. So since I scrim a lot I like to know where people are coming from.
I got a few Q's though. Does the 5.1 and 7.1 make a huge difference? If I got a sound card with a stereo head set would that improve its sound quality? |

I would just suggest a high quality set of stereo headphones.

You'd need a good sound card, PLUS a good pair of headphones.
And more importantly, what kind of headphone would you prefer and what's your budget? |

They both have great reviews, 3 guys on my team have the G35s and they say that they are great. The price though is kinda got me a little confused. Siberia V2s are $90 G35s are $130 with the $40 I save on the Siberia V2s I could get a sound card and a new mouse pad which I am in need of. I also hear that the 5.1 and 7.1 suck for Source but I don't know if that is just people saying things. But if I did get the Siberia V2s would they work better with a sound card since they are just stereo (I think). And then if I did need a sound card would I need 7.1 or 5.1. With the G35, you won't have to worry about sound cards as it has a built in sound card into the headset and it plugs into your PC via USB.
But if you already have a good microphone at hand and don't mind stereo over surround, I'd suggest a good pair of in-ear monitors as these will reproduce sounds from the game, close to realistic sounds. Of course, these aren't cheap and will set you back a few hundred bucks depending on the quality. |
