You should remove the Ep2 option from the Source 2009 list of games. The Source 2009 tools are not compatible with the Ep2 content. You should only work on Ep2 content with the Source 2007 tools.

It's noteworthy that the "Reset Game Configurations" and "Edit Game Configurations" options in the SDK launcher apply only to the currently selected engine version.
If you really want to do a full reset, select 2006 and choose reset, then select 2007 and reset it, then select 2009 and reset it too. I somehow wound up with the Orange Box games listed under 2009, 2007, and 2006 when I first opened the new SDK launcher. To add your mod back in on the 2007 engine, you can then select the appropriate engine version (2007) from the list, and use "Edit Game Configurations" to add your mod. You may have to switch engine versions away and back again before you see it in the list. I did the above and all of my SDK tools seem to be working fine again. I don't really have time to deeply check that claim at the moment, but everything looked good! Last edited by Tayrtahn: 05-11-2010 at 07:06 PM. |

Source Engine 2009 allows map creation for Garry's Mod too. Any case anyone didn't know.

Why is Portal listed for the 2009 engine? Did someone misread "Portal 2" on a memo? Is there another Portal update incoming?
None of the 2009 SDK tools (Hammer, Face Poser, Model Viewer) work with Portal. I added it to the 2007 list and everything works fine. Looks like a version mismatch to me. |

Thank you Valve. This fixed my system after creating my mod again under the 2007 engine.

![]() Portal will be updated very soon and once it is updated you will need to use the Source 2009 tools to create content for it. In the interim the Source 2007 tools will work for Portal. __________________ Mike Durand Valve |

Edit: They are Source 2009 hammer editor features. You will be able to use them once your game (or mod, someday!) of choice is updated to the new(ish) engine. Last edited by TheDaFox: 05-11-2010 at 10:13 PM. |

Thanks. Where did they mention that btw? Any idea which games will be updated to the newest engine? I saw them mention Portal but I like building for HL2 variations and CS: Source.
