This could be me since I had to work around a similiar problem playing TF2 in Crossover, but here's what I see
Menu looks kind of strange, adjusting brightness does nothing so I suspect something is wrong: http://www.zewg.net/dump/thumblist.p...portalmenu.jpg Started a new game, I guess I was worried over nothing? http://www.zewg.net/dump/thumblist.p...=finesofar.jpg Darn. Game is still running, I can hear the music and on-screen instructions still come up http://www.zewg.net/dump/thumblist.p...ll_of_wasd.jpg So all I can do is exit to the main menu (or walk around, which is much more than my mac could previously do). Is there something I could do/have I missed something obvious/is this a glitch? Last edited by YouWinAFREEiPOD: 05-12-2010 at 02:40 PM. Reason: fixed links. imagedump sucks |

Portal is completely White.
Hey guys. So I just intalled Portal on my macbook pro. It takes a while for it to load up, but once I load up, I select new game. You start out lying down on the bed, then as he moves up it seems like a white light shines, and then the game is completely white. I can hear the sound in the game and can move around, but it's just completely white.
A plain white screen. Here are my specs - Version 10.5.8 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 3 Gb 667 mhz DDR2 SDRAM ATI RadeonX1600 What's wrong? Can my mac not play it? I've played counterstrike and other steam games running bootcamp... EDIT: This guy posted screenshots of the problem on another thread. Same exact thing happens to me. Quote:

Can you post a screenshot?
I believe I might have a repro for this but just want to make sure it's the same error. |

I have the EXACT same problem. Word for word, and picture for picture.
No idea what's wrong! |

The only time I can see anything is when I back into that corner. |

This is the same issue I have and that is also the same graphics card I have. This is most likely an issue with the graphics card we are using.

Same thing
The game is really bright through out the loading up process. It loads up relatively fast, then once I get out of the bed and past the light fixture on the wall completely white blur. I see the instructions for movement and jumping, but that's it. I can hear everything from the portal sound to the foot steps, I even knocked something over in my frantic jumping around. Sigh.... and I had such high hopes for this service.
