Steam on Mac

So I'm new to Steam I just downloaded the Mac version and it just doesn't work.

So I already made an account and confirmed everything so I downloaded the dmg. After the download is done I move the icon to the application folder and finally I open it and them BAM!! A message pops up and it says, "Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again" Wat do? Please help I already am connected to the internet what should I do?

I think he was showing you the forums for "Steam for Mac" where you can get help with your issue. I have moved your thread to that forum.
