Portal won't work on my 2006 MacBook
When I launch the game I get an error about my graphics chip not being supported. I tried it anyway but it won't work. After the blurry "loading" screen it either goes black or just flashes.
![]() I really didn't expect it to work but I'm still disappointed. Torchlight seems to work OK, though. |

Well you got your answer there really, you need a better GPU, iirc 2006 models had pretty crappy graphics cards.
Unlucky man. |

Man It's like they are requiring everyone who gets steam for mac to just buy a brand new computer. Only way your gonna have the proper video cards.

Uh no, it means the Apple has not put decent videocards in its laptops for a long time. You just didn't know it when you bought it. The Intel GPU's (950 and the X3100 are awful AWFUL GPUs.. nearly useless).

Most laptop manufacturers use Intel GMA, not just Apple.
Besides, the MacBook is their entry-level product. It's not for gaming at all. |
