Noob questions from game illiterate Mac users
As someone who has always been a console gamer and had had very little experience with PC games I keep coming up with stupid questions.
So I decided to make a stupid thread !!How do you know the FPS rate of a game?? |

in console type cl_showfps 1 (to hide type cl_showfps 0)
To open console first you need to go to keyboard settings, click advanced, then put a checkmark next to enable console. Then go back in-game, and press the tilda key (~ left of the number 1) |

Or net_graph 1, 2, or 3 (0 to turn off). Also use cl_showfps 2 for a smoother reading.

It depends on the game.
For Source based games, under options -> keyboard, select "advanced" and check "enable developer console." Bring the console up with the ` key and set the cl_showfps convar to 1 or 2 ("cl_showfps 1" or "cl_showfps2"). net_graph may also be used, but it displays other information. |
