[MAC] Portal can't change language

Hello every one.
I'm a new french Steam player who waited for Portal on mac for a long time.
I wanted to change the language to french for understand all of the mysterious voice said and live the game completly but…♥but when you go to "Option" and change the language, the game inform you it must be restart to complete. So the game quit and…♥doesn't restart ! I start its again and nothing change, the language is back to english :/
Is someone has answer(s) for me, please ? How i can change the language to french ?

ET si possible, y'a t il un utilisateur français ici qui puisse me répondre afin que je comprenne complétement les réponses ? merci d'avance ^^

Hmmmm. Was there even a French vocal version to being with? I think changing the language only changes the menu and the subtitles.

Not working for me either (I am trying the Spanish option though)

Very odd.
I changed my language to russian after I messed up my english files, by trying to install skins.
(Seems it doesn't work)
Try changing it through steam it's self.

Excuse me. I don't understand it all and i 'm not a computer expert. Can you explain this to me more simply please ?

Right click on the game while in Steam Library, go to properties, language tab.

edit: Just tried changing the audio language in game myself. After quitting, Steam should try to download the audio files from the server. Is your Steam downloading anything?
