Think there'll be a MI3 remake?

Since LeChuck's Revenge is being remade, does anyone think they'll do The Curse of Monkey Island? I guess it isn't really needed, since it had voice overs and non pixelated graphics, but I'd buy it as soon as it came out if it had the same look(just higher res, cleaner looking).

Your thoughts?

You can still up the quality of the graphics without totally redoing them. They were pretty rough around the edges.

I hope it gets re-released, personally

Heck I would gladly pay 49 dollars for a good MI 3 remake.

I hope they don't make a remake of Curse Of Monkey Island, it's fine as it is.

I played CoMI not long ago (when it came out, the cutscenes crashed my PC) and thought it looked fine. An update wouldn't improve a whole lot, unless they radically change the look, and who wants that.
It's got voice acting already and the score isn't exactly early 80's midis.

I for one doubt I'd get a CoMI:SE.

I hope they don't. Redoing I and II is great considering the graphics are . But III's graphics just have a special charm to them, I wouldn't want it ruined.

There's a difference between "ruining" and "redrawing the assets in the same style but larger and only slightly retouched so as to remove possible aliasing and color issues that the original game had".

I'm not looking for them to totally change it, just make it look less jagged on higher resolution displays.

In any event, I would want them to release it on Steam, and if they do go over the graphics there's always the button to switch back to the older graphics available.

If the first one did well enough to convince Lucasarts to release the second, then if the second one does well enough it should convince them to release the third. Plus it won't be as much work/time, since you don't need any original ideas, just polishing up graphics and testing it.

If they really do a SE of Curse, they better not change the art style, leave the original and make them higher rez.

Changing the art-style of Curse, would really hurt a lot the game, unlike the 2 previous ones.

I hope they redo it too to complete the Trilogy (just ignore the 4th one honestly xD)

They shouldn't change the artstyle or voices or anything about it really, what I wish that they can do:

- Rescan the artwork at High Resolution (HD 1080p/720p)
- Redo the sound-bits in higher quality
- Redo the Cutscenes/Videos in HD
- Make it Windows Vista/7 compatible
- Maybe add some more animations (or stuff from the original artworks that didn't make it into the game) to it
- Update the UI etc. somewhat to bring it up-to-date

I'd like to see it able to work with windows, that'd be nice. Higher resolution would be good. Better UI and hint system. But other than increasing the resolution and possibly doing the 3D stuff in cutscenes better, keep all the two-D graphics the same, just remaster them.

And I would like to see #4 done again, with insanely better graphics and UI. Both of which were horrible but all the jokes and puzzles and stuff were pretty okay and go great with the rest of the series just fine. Nothing at all wrong with the writing, just the graphics and controls. Plus, being able to have it work with windows, again, would be nice.

Basically, I don't want to have to own these games on roms and stuff anymore. Even if they didn't update it for anything except to fix it so I can actually play it legally, I'd still want them to.

Re-releasing the game with full current os support would be nice, if not a total remake.
I'd like to see them move onto remaking some of their other back catalogue though.

monkey island III is already hand drawn and voice acted all they need to do is release it on steam.

they should do a special edition of indiana jones and the fate of atlantis or day of the tentacle.

hell, since Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman all recently met up together they could do one last monkey island game right where monkey island 2 left off (the other games dont really count)and maybe reveal what the secret of monkey island actually is!
