Outrun 2006 in SEGA pack but not stand-alone?

I see that it was pulled a while back but now it is apparently back. I'd like to get my hands on it as a stand-alone game. /discuss.

I knew it got pulled a while back, but when I just noticed it was in the Sega pack I thought that they had reinstated it. Guess not, it's really annoyed me. I want it on Steam but I don't want to pay £50 to get it when I already have over half the games in the pack...

The only decent game in the pack and you have to pay £50 to play it...
Go down to your local arcade, put your £50 in there and try to break the high scores on it.
Failing that, I know of a couple of places that used to have it on their bargain line, trying to get it on steam though its a nightmare.

Glad I grabbed it during the christmas sale.

I wanted to check the store page, but there isn't one. This might be a bug, since the game does have a separate price (9.99€ here). You could try to ask support about it.

I asked support, e-mailed Sega, and did a survey @ sega.com and mentioned it there and the Sega subforum here!

As one of Sega's best titles, it is tragic that is not available on Steam anymore. Does it really cost them that much to keep it up on Steam?

The online play might not work these days, but it is still an excellent game. And they still sell it on Direct2Drive, so there's little reason that they can't put it back up on here.

I noticed it is listed in Publisher's page on Steam too:
http://store.steampowered.com/publisher/SEGA

It's the last listed in the new entries (scroll "next 10")...
But link doesn't work there, neither...

I think it's probably a bug on Steam's web-store... I hope.

It's not a bug, it was removed months ago. It's not the first game to be removed from the storefront and unlikley will be the last.

But it's strange it's still present in the SEGA publisher's game list and even in a pack: which means the file is online and avaible for download...

So where's the advantage to not sell it stand-alone too?

I got this response from steam.

"Hello C, Thank you for contacting Steam Support. At this time, the game is only available as part of the pack, we will be unable to release any information as to if or when this may change. The information available on the Steam Storefront is the only information available at this time. Please refer to the Steam News section for the latest information on upcoming Steam titles and content. Steam News http://store.steampowered.com/news/ "

Of course it's still on the servers for download. Otherwise all those that bought it before it was pulled would be asking for their money back. The same thing happened with Alien Shooter Vengeance, i can still download it whenever i want, but it vanished from the storefront ages ago.

It is a pity i agree. It's an enjoyable game, classic outrun through and through. I was lucky i picked it up last summer, and untill the actual pack went on sale had no idea it was pulled earlier this year.

I don't know why Sega had it removed. But i guess they had their reasons. And maybe they will bring it back, seeing as it is included in the pack, and is listed in the pack list at it's old price.

Maybe they'll put a "Sega Racing Pack" with only racing games, included Outrun... it would be good for me... Outrun + Sega Rally + Sonyc&SASR and dunno what else. :P
I have none of them up to now.
