if I disable my mouse HID I can't use my mouse, my keyboard on the other hand, doesn't have a disable option, just uninstall >.<

I'm using a MX1000 Laser or something and a G15 blue one keyboard...

and then the companies behave like freaking little kids and don't want to fix the problem for their customers.

I hate this.

You don't disable the HID-compliant devices under the "Mice and other pointing devices" category, you disable those under "Human Interface Devices", like others have said the one with 046D in the ID: for me it was the top 2. It sucks that it renders SetPoint useless, but it is a workaround nonetheless. Guess I won't be binding my right and left scroll buttons for this game.

I have a logitech g110 keyboard, a g500 mouse, a g35 headset and their high definition webcam. I have like 15 ID 046 HID devices. I read somewhere that I could just disable the HID service in services.msc, but that didn't fix things.

Sucks, I've never played this game and it seems really good especially for how old it is, but this is killing me. Obviously I can't disable and reenable 15 HIDs every time I want to play.

Disabling it there also disables my mouse. This isn't a fix at all for me.

WOW. Thanks so much, this tripled my framerate. I had absolutely no idea why my (admittedly somewhat weak) computer was running this 6 year old game with a framerate no higher than 30, no matter how low the settings. Now with medium-low settings I get 50-80, so now I can bump up the settings to a more modern level.
Thanks a lot for posting this, it saved my life.

See if I ever buy a Monolith game again. Cripple my system's functionality just so your engine doesn't shoot itself in the foot and ruin the game? nothankyou.jpg

Wow, that's great. Worked like a charm. I wondered why the balls I got a 60 FPS average in the video test only to have the game run like garbage during gameplay.

If you have a G13 mini-keyboard, you only need to disable the G13 joystick driver and the game becomes playable.

Nothing works for me. The game doesn't even run for a minute before the slowdown kicks in. I tried all the tips here. It starts smooth then becomes a slideshow quickly.

I have M series Logitech mouse and K series kb (wireless) and I never had Logitech drivers installed. I've actually rebuilt the system last week with new mobo.

Disabling the HID service does nothing for me. Disabling the HID devices disables my mouse (M510) so that's not good. Running the game as admin and/or in XP mode doesn't help. Even if I run the built-in performance test the slowdown starts by the time the test ends so I get like 450fps max and 5fps min in test results.

The game runs at ~5fps even at 640x480 with minimum options

I've played some really old games including freaking Unreal last week, that's like 10 years old and it worked fine why can this game work properly?

I have Core i72600, GTX580, 8GB RAM.

I also have GTX260 running as PhysX processor so I tried disabling it and switching PhysX to the GTX580 and to CPU and it doesn't help either.

I'll dig in the closet and see if I have any corded kb and mouse and try that. But they're likely to be Logitech too

Zak, may have to get a PS/2 keyboard or mouse. Also, you're absolutely sure you disabled the right thing, HID-compliant device(s) under Human Interface Devices. Nothing else.

Yup. Positive. My mobo doesn't have PS2. I tried wired USB keyboard but I don't have any wired mice, same results. I gave up. But thanks I started playing Skyrim and I bought lots of other games on recent sales so I have plenty of games to play.

Quiting Logitech Setpoing: 37 -> 233 FPS.

NPNP.

edit: Changing mouse sensitivity ingame though caused a drop back to 37 though. Reporting back after I fixed that issue as well.
edit2: Starting and Closing SetPoint fixed it.
