Killing Floor Mac Issues

First off, I love this game. My friend gifted it to me and I have been playing a bunch.

That said, my enjoyment will be short-lived if they don't release a patch for it soon. Textures (mostly the ground and on staircases) turn up light grey, such as in Office where the front open area has grey ground. The other major issue I noticed was whenever a server decides to load up a new map my Mac gets stuck on the loading screen and requires a reboot.

Specs:
OS 10.5.8
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB RAM
Nvidia 9400M

I'll post more bugs as I play it more and more, and I'll go more in-depth as to when I see the bugs and what not.

Hopefully the devs will make use of it, I'd love for Killing Floor to run 100% on my Mac without minor annoyances. After all, if I'm loving it so much with its bugs, imagine how much I'd love it without!

This upgrade isn't free. Why would you require someone to pay for making a game work he already purchased?

It seems to happen on a lot of people runnin 10.5.X so it will probably get fixed.

For now you can try disabling motion blur and projectors in the graphical settings options.

When ingame you can try opening the console (tilde ~) and typing in Renderemulate xbox (or gf1 or gf2) as well.

Snow Leopard is cheap anyway, and worth it for the price. May as well update.

I know... I tried upgrading but when I got my computer the previous owner formatted the hard drive to Apple Partition Table :| so I can't upgrade it without a serious waste of time that might not even work. I have 300 GB of stuff that I'd need to move to an external to partition to GUID and then move back. All this without a firewire too.

Soooo for now I'm stuck. Maybe I can figure a workaround over the summer

Did you try disabling motion blur like Zetsumei suggested?

disabling motionblur helps against the screen flashing white.
turning projectors off helps against some incompatibility with shaders (like the floors being invisible).

Renderemulate will simulate some stuff for how it would look on xbox and for some reason that helps some people. (it will render some things on the cpu instead of gpu).

I've played for another 3 hours, for a total of 6.

Numerous times I have played in third-person on online matches by switching players in spectator mode right before I was to spawn. I've been able to duplicate this. Right before the last enemy dies I just rapidly click (to switch players) and then when I spawn I go into a extremely buggy third person, I couldn't switch weapons either. It's pretty avoidable but kinda annoying.

Also a bug on the multiplayer screen, which both my friend and I (and I'm sure many others) noticed where if you leave your cursor over favorites the description is for the friends tab and vice-versa. Not a big deal.

And the third thing for this post, but I'm not sure if its the game's problem or mine, I haven't been able to get any servers onto my favorites list. In game I would open up the menu and press "Add to Favs" but whenever I go to the server tab it doesn't show up even after pressing refresh. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm having this problem too. I'm on 10.6.3 and have an ATI X1600 so the OS and video card have nothing to do with it. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?

TIA,

M

I usually have to reboot my comp when a new map is loaded. Ruins the fun... Never happens when joining a game from server browser.
Really hoping for a fix.
My specs are:
OS 10.6.3
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB RAM
Nvidia 9400M
(MacBook5.1)

Svanrog I have pretty much that same notebook here with the 9400/9600 combo video card set up and I can not reproduce it. Played through 3 map switches.

Would like to add to all our new players (mac and pc users both). If you have this map loading issue, and it happens all the time on your computer, and you live in the Greater Atlanta area (we are in Roswell), let me know and you can bring your computer by the office for us to look at.

We might even let you see some Heroes stuff that nobody else has yet
