"Could not load library client"

When I boot up Episode 2 (I was playing it yesterday), after the valve intro, the screen stays black and the game kicks me back to windows with this error message:

"Could not load library Client"

I've verified the files, but I haven't re-installed yet.

UPDATE RAGE!

Join the club.

I was playing it 20 mins ago, just before the update. I quit just to install the hi-res pack for Alyx. One ninja-update later I'm here, browsing the rage forums.

It's the traditional Valve update happy hour. I'm kinda used to it since the Team Fortress-way of updating: it takes a week to fix what the update has messed up.

I experience the same problem, its normal, all we need to do its to wait, and don't complain about valve, valve is the best, try play games with actvision that screws the game everytime its is updated that means once a year and the game still buggy like hell

Rackstar too. They took 2 years to get GTA IV to a decent state and then just SCREWED UP everything in the last update.
