Manually update games?`

I have steam on my main PC in the house where there is no more Internet connection. I have empire total war installed and would like to patch it up due to some bugs. However I know that steam updates the games only when you get with steam and I would like to figure out a way to update my game by maybe somehow installing the patch on my laptop and transferring it to my main PC to install it. Is that possible? Or are there any other options? Thanks.

Umm, you can copy the whole game folder from your laptop and overwrite anything that is on the pc, that should work. Not 100% guaranteed tho.
