Help: Challenger's Door Awards

Hi.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get the third-last and second-last awards in the Challenger's Door (Cascade x7 and 7-Gem Match, respectively)?

These are the only two awards left I have to "fully complete" the game, but aside from that I'm also curious as to how one gets these awards outside of sheer luck because, without the level difference which one may have during the storyline, the enemies charge their gauges too fast to feasibly set up an actual Cascade x7 and a Match x7.

I tried setting up a Match x7 against the Mithril Gigas but I wasn't able to get rid of its Ability Gems without compromising the position of some of the gems which were apart of the setup.

Help?

7-gem match is easy, just use a creature like a Frost Aevis (abilities that change gem color).
Causing the cascade might be tricky, but it can happen by chance.
