Borderlands and SecuROM
I was peeking around at Borderlands and the DLC, and it was mentioned one or two places that the Steam version of Borderlands comes with SecuROM. A few questions, though I guess this could be asked other places as well:
1) Is it SecuROM? 2) How does this work with Steam? 3) Unlike most installs, will the SecuROM stuff uninstall if I remove the game data from the computer, or will it stay? I really dislike stuff lingering on the computer, so wanted to ask before buying. Thanks. |

SecuROM is only in the first and second DLC. If you don't install them the game is completly without SecuROM. It doesn't even need a CD-Key unlike the two mentioned DLCs.

What are the first two DLCs? I don't want to install SecuROM on my comp, that is the only thing keeping me from buying this game right now.

Zombie Island and Moxxi. I find people complaining about SecuROM annoying due to the fact that it doesn't prevent you from playing at all, or even cause any issues, but whatever...

What's the issue with SecuROM? With Steam, I've not had a problem with it, I can copy the CD-Key and place inthe "enter serial" box and activate - DONE - that's the last of that...

Maybe you had no problem with that sort of copy protection until now. But that malware did mess up both of My DVD drives. I had several issues with reading original copy protected Discs and burning CD/DVDs. After reinstalling My OS I decided not to install any Game with Securom. And without replacing my drives they are working without any issues since 7 months now.
