Question Can my rig run BF:BC2?

Hey guys, I stopped playing Modern Warfare 2 a long time ago and have been hearing great things about Bad Company 2, but I've also heard it's quite a system hog. All I'm looking to do with it is run it at my native 1680x1050 efficiently (30+ FPS). Here are my system specs:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
Video Card: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Hard Drive: 640 GB
Operating System: Windows 7 32-Bit

Your CPU is fast enough, despite what people may say about it being a dual core. Your video card is so-so, so I'd say medium settings with no AA. You'll run it fine though.

You will be able to run it but not at max settings. You will have to lower many of the video settings and even then you might still lag here and there. If you want to really enjoy the game I recommend you upgrade.

I have an e5200 @ 3.5Ghz and the old 320MB 8800GTS. Runs fine at ~1680x900 with some medium and some low settings. You should be fine.

Normally one of the first couple of people into the game as well.

Select the game from the list and let it run a system check to tell if you can run it.

That is indeed highly unrecommended unless you have hardware requirements forcing you to downgrade to 32bit. You don't even have to buy a new OS with Windows, you just need to get a 64bit DVD and you can use your 32-bit key with the 64bit Edition.

Why do people think this thing is actually useful?

To OP, I have the basically same rig, I play with everything but shadows on high, no AA, 4xAF, HBAO off. I get pretty good FPS, I've never noticed any slow down.
