No Sound ( Windows 7 Home Premium )

Yesterday my computer's sound was working perfectly. Today i turn it on and there is no sound there is a big red X on the sound icon saying No speakers or headphones plugged in when i have headphones pulled directly onto the sound card also when i go to the Device Manager it shows ATI High Definition Audio Device not plugged in but when i click on it It says the device is working properly. Anyone able to help me?

roll back your sound drivers or install latest. If you have a sound card, check to see if it has been burned out.

You probably installed ATi drivers and installed the HDMI sound drivers, which will change your default sound device.
Go into your control panel and go to sound device settings. You'll have multiple playback and recording devices to choose from, switch it from the ATi driver to your other sound card/onboard.

It shows Two TV Icons that say ATI DP Output
ATI High Definition Audio Device
Not Plugged In

When i right click it it only shows Disable
Show Disable Devices
Show Disconnected Devices
When i left click Show Disconnected Devices both of the icons disappear.

Do you have hdmi with speakers in your monitor? If not you need to remove the ati hdmi sound drivers and install probably realtek speaker drivers.

Well, if you uninstall all sound drivers and reboot, w7 it should install them all with the basic drivers.
