To help build the Portal 2 hype

Here is a page of E3 "Best of.." awards from IGN. If you take notice, they chose

• Best Xbox 360 game: Portal 2
• Best PS3 game: Portal 2
• Best PC game: Portal 2
• Best Puzzle game: Portal 2

Of course, this is only from one site, but it seems as if they were blown away by the game.

It makes me a lot more excited for this game, how about you?

I scratched my head about that one as well. You'd think that since its for PC it would win the Best of PC if it won the Best Overall. Kind of implied logic. I just saw how many categories Portal 2 won and thought "wow, it beat out GOW3 and Killzone 3 for the consoles".

I'm confused how it loses to Rage when Portal beats it in two categories and wins Puzzle while Rage itself only wins Shooter.

Maybe there is some scoring system that, when added up, gave the other games a 0.something advantage?

Strange. They probably didn't want to appear weak by choosing a lowly puzzle game.

Honestly, it seems Valve is the only company making quality games anymore.

Seems to me many typical gamers, at IGN specifically, only care about Shooters. Look at the comments on the link.

And this is the problem that future gaming will bring.

Thankfully, Valve isn't going down the path that many other gaming companies are by spewing out these Shooters.

Well, considering the market now includes Fratboy Joe and his homophobic, xenophobic, racist little brother, they have to appeal to them. I highly doubt that either one use the internet for anything other than Myspace and Facebook. So, the magazines caters to those people to sell enough copies to warrant printing.

We all know what's really going on, and that's good enough for me.
