Pixel perfect jumping requirements; bah!
Awesome concept -- but despite purchasing it I haven't finished this game, and probably won't unless it's revved.
Why? The pixel-perfect jumping requirements in world 4. I haven't been a teenager with perfect reflexes and too much time in my hands for a long, long while -- and when I play a game, I'm there because I want a story, not for an exercise in frustration. So -- yay concept, boo inaccessible presentation. A hobby game is one thing -- but if people are going to pay money, an "easy mode" is called for such that everyone who buys the game can actually complete it. |

Did anyone notice that, after the Wii was released, games got easier and easier and easier up to the point where the games play though themselfes so that you just have to sit there and watch?
And now people start complaining if they fail at the same spot more than once... Everything must be easy and impossible to fail. --- There is a Level Editor. I think you can use it to put the end of the level right next to the start of the level. |

Pixel perfect?
I've played the game for free (yes, it's a free game available at their website) and I died a few times indeed. But it's far from pixel perfect precision. Every try is like ten seconds so even if you suck just try for ten minutes. Also, you can travel on the ground and not above those hands too. |

I was stuck there for a whole hour but it was totally worth it and you will need these jumps later anyways so better learn to do them now.

Actually the trend started with the playstation 1 and the advent of lenghty cinematic games. And is climaxing with games such as Heavy Rain, MGS4 and the latest Prince of Persia. Which are not on the Wii. |

the game was great fun, then 4-5 happened. There's always a point in these indie games where it stops being fun abruptly, and starts being ridiculous.

Whatever you do, don't play VVVVVV then. You'll probably break down into tears; you'll keep playing for the music though.

I still haven't finished NSMBW, partially because of the difficulty. I'm the kind of person who's fine playing through I Wanna be the Guy, but I found NSMBW too frustrating. The physics were a big part of this, though. The game felt too floaty, and the characters didn't have enough friction.
Anyway, there has been a trend towards easy games going back to the PS1/N64 generation where, like an earlier person mentioned, the focus turned towards making games more cinematic, and less arcadey. This game didn't seem particularly hard for me at any point, but eh. |

I don't know about Prince of Persia or Heavy Rain, but judging by what MGS1 and 3 are like, MGS4 isn't one of those types of games, despite the awesome cutscenes.
