Karma Jockey's Custom Mutations
Karma Jockey's Custom Mutations Message: Updated the mutations commands to the new format. Added two new mutations: Super Crazy Ultimate Mutation, and Horror. Information: Back in June I made 3 custom mutations, Spitters!, Pitch Black and Nightmare, after I made this thread to be my home thread for any new mutations I make. You can download my mod, play my custom mutations and then discuss them here. If anyone wishes to suggest a mutation idea that I should try to make, feel free to reply. Anyone who suggests a good and possible mutation idea will be put in my "Suggesters List". Installation / Usage Instructions: To install my mod simply extract the .vpk from the zip file into your addons folder in the main Left 4 Dead 2 directory. You may wish to read the readme included. To play a custom mutation make sure your enable my mod in the extras menu and that you have the console enabled. Open the console and use this command "map c1m1_hotel spitters", just replace c1m1_hotel with any map you want and "spitters" with the name of the mutation. Make sure you dont use quotes when entering the command into the console. Mutation Info: Spitters! - In this mutation there are only Spitters. They have some modified stats and there can be up to 20 of them at a time. They also spawn a much more frequent rate. Be careful this mutation can be pretty tough in close quarters. Nightmare - This mutation is survival against only Special Infected and Tanks. The fog has been modified to create a creepier atmosphere. Fully Charged! - This mutation features only Chargers! Their health is a little lower, their spawn rate is faster,a nd there can be up to 12 of them after you! Either learn to level Chargers or they'll level you. Snipers Only - This mutation has you use only the Hunting Rifle, Military Rifle and a Machete as weapons. Also the only Special Infected are Hunters and Smokers. Chainsaw Realism - Combine Chainsaw Massacre and Realism and this is what you get. There are no Special Infected but there are a lot of Common Infected. Single Player Realism - Realism, but in single player! Also there are a lot of other things modified, there are tons of various things changed to make the game seem a little more realistic. Pitch Black - If playing in single player (or local) the skybox should appear to be all black, also the fog is changed to black and is more dense. You are also against only Hunters. Their health has been decreased to 100. Jockeys! - This mutation features only Jockeys! Their health is lower, they run a hell of a lot faster, and there can be up to 20 of them. Excellent for practise dead-stopping Jockeys. However it is very easy to be quad-incapped, so be careful. Silent But Deadly - Music is turned off, and the CI dont make any vocals. So you will need to wait until you hear many footsteps to know if there is a horde, also makes finding Tanks a nice surprise. Crowd Control - In this mutation there are only M60s and shotguns. Also there is a larger number of CI. Master - Even more difficult than expert, stay together to survive. Blind - The CI are blind, but there are more of them and they hit much harder. Cheats - An experimental mutation that has no changes to gameplay besides enabling cheats. Disability - All Special Infected can't use their abilities, so be prepared to see Boomer waddling up and scratching you. Nightmare 2 - Based off of the original Nightmare mutation, but now in coop. It also features many other changes and is a lot harder. Close Quarters - Melee weapons only versus Boomers and Spitters. Be careful not too swing to wildly. Guitar Hero - If you choose to wield the Guitar then great power will be yours. The guitar has twice the range and is a lot more powerful. Green Flu - A greenish fog has covered the world, every survivor is now slowly dieing from a new virus. Only Smokers, Boomers and Spitters spawn. Hell - Its Hell on earth, the environment has a red ambient and the sky is orange. Only Hunters, Chargers and Jockeys and Smokers spawn. White Out - A similar effect to Silent Hill, only Chargers, Smokers and Jockeys spawn. Bleed Out Scavenge - Is just like it sounds, your health is only temporary but the enemies' isnt. Time isnt the only thing running out. Bleed Out Survival - You must survive the infected as well as watching your health. How long can you survive? Healing Gnome Versus - The Gnome heals you, make sure your teammates arent too greedy. Healing Gnome Survival - The Gnome heals you, you must also try to survive as long as you can. Healing Gnome Scavenge - The Gnome heals you, an extra feature to a normal scavenge gamemode. Four! - Tiger would be so proud (not that we could say the same for him). The survivors are armed with only a golf club. Hunters Versus - Versus but the entire infected team are Hunters, watch out as quads caps are a big danger. Smokers Versus - Versus but the entire infected team are Smokers, watch out as quad caps are a big danger. Boomers Versus - Versus but the entire infected team are Boomers, quad caps arent a big danger but the constant blinding sure is. Chargers Versus - Versus but the entire infected team are Chargers, watch out as quad caps are a big danger. Jockeys Versus - Versus but the entire infected team are Jockeys, watch out as quad caps are a big danger. Pills Here! - You will notice a large abundance of pills laying around... Adrenaline Rush - You start with adrenaline, it would be in your best interest to use it right away. Survivors are OP! - And you thought the survivors were already overpowered, just wait until you try this. Super Gnome - The gnomes power has grown, but so has the infected. In this mutation the healing gnome heals much more generously but common infected hit much harder and there can be tons of them. Kung Fu Boomer - Just you versus one Boomer, Sounds easy eh? Well you'd be mistaken. The Boomer you face has been trained in the art of Kung Fu! He's much more deadlier than ever. One on One - One Survivor, one Tank who will be the victor? The Tank respawns though... Midnight Survial - Like "Pitch Black" but with a few changes and as a survival gametype. 1 vs 100 - You versus 100 infected, theres no special infected. Use this mutation for training yourself how to deal with large hordes. Burning Cans - In this scavenge mutation the infected team is all Spitters, make sure you keep an eye out and kill them as soon as possible. Super Crazy Ultimate Mutation - CrAzY!!!1 Horror - Horror is a modification of versus, it adds very dense fog and buffs for the infected team, this is a very hard mutation on versus I found that the bot team did better than I did. Tryed the 3 mutations the best one by far is spitters, lotsa crazy fun to be had. I had a suggestion, if you could do a mutation with hunters only except they can only melee you. Have alot attack everyone at once, like the spitters do except maybe more of them. Heres an example in this video of what I mean, the first mutation on here is simular to yours only you get a magnum and its one player. The multiplayer aspect of yours is more fun to me.

I noticed he has it set to 1 life, you get clawed down by hunters and it's over lol. Either way looks like it would be intense with alot of hungry hunters bearing down on you to claw you to death, kinda reminds me of the movie Aliens. hey I like this idea, but I'm wondering how exactly you're doing it. Send me a PM since I don't want to derail your thread, but Im just wondering how you go about making these- I mean is it seems like a process. I'd like to know how you got it working anyway XD

I seen you took my idea into consideration (actually the one I found in that video with the hopes of making a better/differing version) thanks.
I should have named it something I guess but I forgot, hmmm I was thinking Infestation. Some things that could be implimented are, make the hunters faster (at least faster than survivors to cause more fear knowing you can't outrun them and must face them at some point), along with doing possibly more damage with the claw. Not too much more damage though because if the survivors get swarmed with shredding hunters they would go down too fast, maybe 10 damage per claw attack, at most 15. Also as was mentioned have quite a few hunters in the game at once to cause panic from every direction, but not too much to cause lag, the most I'd try for a start would be 30 perhaps, no lower then 20 though. Hunters health could possibly remain as is or slightly less, but no higher than their default. You just don't want them too weak so it makes it too easy and less intense for the player, they need to take a little bit of a beating. As for survivors weapons, that's a good question. Maybe make tier 2s possibly more rare, forcing survivors to use melee and T1 weapons more. So when you do find a T2 weapon you'll be amped to unload it on the hunter infestation befalling you and your buddies. The survivors health state could remain as is, 3 incaps and you're dead. One incap and death isn't good for this if you're getting swarmed by ravenous hunters. What's good about non pouncing hunters is they are silent, and would scare the crap out of you when rounding a corner and seeing 5 of them in your face about to rip it off. Rifle Range (Coop, maybe Versus)
- All survivors start with a hunting rifle, a molotov, a first aid kit, and pills - All pistols are changed to magnums - All first aid kits and defibs are changed to pills - All pipe bombs and bile bombs are changed into molotovs - All weapons, ammo piles, and upgrade packs are removed except pistols - No CI, tanks, or witches - Only smokers spawn with 8 at a time - These commands/convars:

On dark carnival 2, playing spitters, there were a few commons at the crescendo. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not.
