No Vista or Windows 7 support?

I'd love to try our Heroes of Might & Magic V, but the system requirements state: OS: Windows® 2000/XP (only).

How Sad.

I'm playing it on Win7 X64 just fine.

Only problem I've noticed is a slight slowdown in Hammers of Fate when Caravans are all arriving at my towns, but I'm not sure if thats my OS, or just because they really didn't put enough work in to HoF ( HORRIBLE TRANSLATIONS, OH MY GOD. )

I Bought HOMM V GOLD EDITION few years ago and after getting home i noticed it didn't list vista as supported os. Bad thing is that i had already opened the package so i lost my chance of returning the game. Maybe i'll try and install it to see does it work...

I think all it needs is for DX9 to be installed.
I remember it asking for d3dx9_25.dll
Get the latest directx runtime from microsoft (dxwebsetup.exe)

I played it both on vista and 7.

No issues yet, Windows 7 64-bit. Eight hours of playtime.

I only played on win7 64, saves work. Retail version. The reason I can think why loading games wouldn't work would be different (patch) versions.
I hope we'll get a Heroes sale day this week.

HOMM V - I'm totally confused. It played great the first two days on Win 7 64 bit from Steam. Now it gets stuck at the loading splash screen.... I did install some additional games, so I'm wondering if one of those overwrote it

Verify integrity of game cache.
If that doesn't work try to remember what you changed... driver settings, driver version, new programs.
