Should I be getting better performance?

Bought OA today but my computer's holding me back from enjoying the game. All the settings are set to normal and I feel like I'm barely breaking fourty fps.

Thanks

radeon 5770
AMD x4 620
4gb ram
win 7

Your processor is at a bottle neck with your video card.
Unfortunatelly you will need a 3.0 ghz processor atleast to keep up with todays games
not only for normal reasons but being as you are using a DX11 card unlike nvidea wich uses a false DX11 your video card uses many features wich enhance older games and newer games wich are only available threw ATI cards.

Your memory is fine, your video card is good the 5770 can handly everything on the market at a good speed. your os doesent matter.

its just your 2.2 ghz processor that beats it, its still the best processor for a 2.2 ghz but you will need to update to 3.0+ your mother board should handle it if you have a AM3/AM3+.

For 160 bucks you can get a Phenom II quaddie 3 ghz processor wich you can easily overclock and easily unlock cores.

Or if you have the money for 220 bucks you can get a 3 ghz 6 core versino. wich you can easily overclock and unlock even more cores.

also id buy another 5770 to go dual video card, going for 3-6 video cards isnt worth it just sell that one and buy yourself a 5970.

Oh by the way take off vertical sync if you have it on that should give you atleast 20-60 more fps instantly. and also sometimes taking off super AA or AAA can boost up your fps.
