Aussie price - FYI 2K

You'd have had a sale from me at the US/UK price (10 USD), or even the US/UK price plus 10% for GST - but 27USD? 2.7 times as much? That's not a sale, that's a ripoff.

There is NO EXCUSE for region pricing like this. It's an outrage - and you won't EVER get a sale from me at a multiple of the US/UK price. Never.

Just how gullible do you think we are?

These prices should be very close when you take into account currency conversion.

I have seen some games which are 4.99 - ALL CURRENCIES. which means some pay more than others. Sniper is one of them, I saw it for $29.99 USD, £29.99 GBP - outrage

Yep, it's because certain distributors charge us Australian RRP for games rather than being honest and keeping it in line with American prices. They do it because people are apparently willing to pay it...

Those trying to explain it via currencies - nope. We're charged in US dollars.

I never understood why they charge more to Australians. I think it's because of kangaroos

I think it's because our local distributors are shameless profiteers and parasites and were angry about being undercut - so certain US publishers decided they'd treat us EVEN WORSE than the physical retailers.

Cos the free market works, you see.

Sure am glad I bought it on Steam before they remembered to jack up the price.

But you can't really point the finger at game retailers, almost everything is more expensive here. Checked the price of cars recently?

FYI, 2K doesn't give a about us. We have been complaining to them for ages about game pricing (Borderlands, Bioshock 2) and all they say is "We take your feedback seriously and will take these comments into account for future pricing" and all it results in is HIGHER prices than the already high prices.

I never buy 2K games locally any more, if I get a 2K game (which is rare) I always get it gifted.

Thumbs up Hmm I must be gullible then

I don't see what your seeing from my perspective games have always been horribly overpriced in AUS and when I walk to my local EB games or JB-Hi and see Borderlands $109.00 Bioshock 2 $99.00 Bioshock $40.00 and then look at steam and see Borderlands & all DLC, Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and about roughly 23 other games along with those for $89.00 USD $104.00 AUD (roughly) I couldn't give them my money fast enough...

That's just me though.

I also passed on picking this up on realizing the price difference.

C'mon 2k, we need to pay over twice the amount? Really?

Most games have to be extensively reworked for Australia, due to violence, sex, because the moon is full this week, Put that on top of current currency exchange rates and smaller population then the EU and America. Since most publisher's make no distinction between digital and physical copies you are paying the prices of doing business in your country.

Just adding my voice - they've lost at least 4 sales between my friends. This goes also for Bioshock 2 and Civilization V.

I guess they don't understand that we don't like being ripped off.

For those trying to defend 2K - please don't insult us as well.
