Save Game Erased?
Well, I loaded up TU this morning, and all my saves seem to be gone. I click Load - and it shows my profile, (MPQC), but it has no levels in it. Literally - it's just a blank space. I'll upload a screenshot in a minute..
Any help? :\ Edit: Screenshot Last edited by MasterPenguin: 07-05-2010 at 09:54 AM. |

Ouch.
Where did you reach? Would it be a big pain to replay until that point? Also, check if your TU folder is read-only. |

Can you do a search for files ending .sav.
Also, in the TU directory, there should be a saves folder. Is that empty? |

In the saves folder, there's a file called mpqc.SAV. I also have way too many .sav files to list what I found in my search, so that's not a great option, lol.
Quick edit: Just so you know, MPQC is the name I used for my profile. (Also my steam name.) Last edited by MasterPenguin: 07-06-2010 at 04:26 PM. |

Before anything else, perhaps make a backup of mpqc.SAV What's the filesize of mpqc.SAV? |

The filesize is current 2.23kb. I've also backed it up. :]

As a note of more information, this happened to me once too. After I beat the game the first time, and then went back to my profile to replay on another difficulty, all my mission select choices were gone and left with a blank right column like in the OP's SS.
At first, I thought that is how the game worked. And since I enjoy the game so much and was going to replay it anyways, I didn't mind. But it did happen like the OP. This isn't an issue that I am too personally concerned about but if there is any information anyone needs let me know. I would be glad to help out. I am running Vista 32. |

Can you set the TU directory to read/write (+ sub directories) and run the game as admin. See if that makes a diff. |

I've got it set for read/write, by default.
I've got STEAM run everything as admin also - so admin permission isn't the problem. (I did however do it manually through the exe, nothing changed.) I've also tried putting on XP compatibility mode - no change either. Save still doesn't load. :/ |

Hmm. If you make a copy of mpqc.SAV (say mpqc2.SAV within the TU/saves dir), do both .sav files then appear in the profiles list?

Both saves appear in the load profile list, though both have nothing.
