Great Game! Any chance of expansions?
I'd simply like to congratulate the Czech developers for producing such an enjoyable, beautiful and above all addictive game, with varied gameplay styles and landscapes, plus a degree of taste and intelligence lacking in most "transatlantic" games on a similar theme. Best bargain ever on Steam!
26 hours in, and now playing Hunter as opposed to Warrior, I'm finding it such a different experience as to be virtually a new game. Is there any prospect of an expansion, perhaps smoothing some of the rougher edges without spoiling the excellent game balance? |

Master Jacques, we are really glad that you like our game. But no, I think that there will be no expansions or sequels to Numen.

Hmm... I'm sorry to hear that, but why? Is the game not successful enough? I haven't been able to dive into my copy yet, really, because of the lack of an invert-mouse option, but what I played seemed fun.

Let's just say that it is not the best time now for a small development team to start working on a big project. Sales of Numen certainly wouldn't pay the whole development of a sequel/expansion and I can't see any potential investors who would want to put their money into it. Gaming industry isn't in a good shape right now.

What does this mean for the support for the game? Will there definately be a patch for the problems that have cropped up sofar? If yes, I'm off to the store page to put this one in my cart.
It seems these days that many (smaller) devs put out games and either go under or don't support the game beyond launch, for whatever reason. Although that may be understandable in the current economic climate, it's something I'm starting to get weary of, so I've become cautious when buying games. |

Yes, we are already working on the patch. I tested the first version on Friday, but there was a few problems with new fixes and features, and so a new version of the patch will be needed (another try should be on this Friday).

Hi Kovi. I wonder if it might be possible to release your toolset, and then patch on a front-end loading menu to load either the default campaign or some community-created content?
It isn't the perfect solution if you weren't planning for it, however I understand the position against creating a sequel right now and perhaps providing the loading hook upfront would take less (far less I'd imagine) resources than the creation of new stuff in house? |

Hi UMS. Unfortunately, there is no chance for a toolset to be released. Numen was built on a licensed CPAL3D engine that was modified, tweaked and updated lots of times to fit our needs and there are no fancy tools like in UDK available, which means that putting together some useable toolset for the modding community (if the license allows it at all) would take enormous effort and time and there is probably no one here who could do that.

Ah, thanks for the explanation Kovi I understand. Well, having worked through several development cycles in the past I know that the finished/supporting stage is not the most exciting, but y'all did a good job with what you had to work with.
I hope things turn around for small game companies worldwide. The big name studios are almost always more hype and disappointment than fun in these times. |
