GDDR = Graphics DDR
It's just a marketing thing.
They call it graphics DDR because it's DDR dedicated to graphics memory, which is the case for all DDR on gfx cards.

Regular DD2/3 uses sticks of memory that are contacted via a bus from the CPU to the RAM. It can be changed out easily

GDDR3/5 are GPU memory and soldered to the GPU board. They also have a direct interconnect with the GPU itself. It's much faster and more efficient. However, it also runs a lot hotter.

As others have said, it's mostly a marketing gimmick, but there are differences.

You two fail to realize DDR5 and GDDR5 are the same thing, just a typo on the website.

and you fail to realize that one is on a graphics card, thus the G and the other isn't.

I've been building systems long enough to know the difference.

Also, google is your friend.

Seriously there is no DDR5, he said he was looking at a GRAPHICS card. Sometimes manufacturers leave out the G in DDR5 when they get posted on newegg and other retailers. This is what your failing to realize.
