They should release the packs for free. The game's not exactly popular and Valve clearly showed that a game can sell alot after a free content update.

I think they should do a sale, £20 for AVP and the 2 map packs. Or just repakage the Mp maps into a new pack for £5. Job done.

Promising free content in the future is more likely to attract people then paid content.

I don't think so. If someone said to be buy game X and you'll get free DLC at some point wouldnt make me get it. As getting something for free at some point is not a promis, as far as I'm awear Valve are the only ones giving free DLC. Everyone else is charging for it.

The few games I've looked at getting as of late have got payed DLC. Mass Effect 2, Just Cause 2 and MW2.(wich I wont be getting after playing through MW1 about 4 hours.)I can't speack for every game but they are just the one's I've been looking at. An some have been cheep, like a £1.80 for the Just cause 2 stuff. but all you get for that is a car. I've not really looked at the price for the Mass effect 2 stuff, as you have to by points from the bio wear site to buy the DLC.

Dude, you maybe didn't get my point. AvP is not exactly a vastly popular game. Paid micro addons aren't a way to turn people on for a not-so-popular game. Free micro addons might in fact generate more interest for the game and thus more revenue.

For 5 bucks I would buy a map pack that included all of the current add on maps. I may even give the game another shot. I will even reach here and say 8 bucks for the multiplayer/survival maps. That is a two packs for the price of one ratio so a decent value for the money.
