Can't move

I started my first game and right as I hit the "W" key my character doesn't move forward, So I'm like wtf. I check my controls its on default for wasd controls. Also my esc menu is glitched if I push esc it will just go away if hold my screen flickers and it really hard to exit a match. I'm assuming this game might be opengl and is suffering from the ati 10.6 patch. If it isn't what else could be causing this.
