BF2 crashes at start

Hi

I have problems when I start BF2, it simply shows a black window and then it sends me to the desktop...

My PC is AMD 3800 Dual core (2.01Ghz), 2gb RAM, XFX240 GT 1024mb.

I have reinstalled the game, and i've seen that it could be just problems with dual core...

Sorry about my pathetic english :S

Did you "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"? That's somethign I do everytime I download a game. I had issues with another game due to that. Sometimes you'll see it download about 1% or 2% of some files that were missing or corrupt.

Try that 1st as that is in easy fix.

Aw, and your English is just fine.

maybe something to do with screen resolution.
I recall having to edit the launch path with the correct res setting

ill go find what im talking about and post here

edit: here it is +fullscreen 1 +wdescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

must be typed as shown with your resolution filled where mine shows 1680 1050

HAHAHA just noticed there is no i in widescreen yet game still launches so im not gonna mess with it

Yes, do you know how to get to your Game Settings INI file?

Note: I'll be here for a bit if you need help.

Seriously, your English, and punctuation is very good. English and it's grammer is not easy to learn if it's not your native language. Good job.

I have to write +fullscreen 1 +wdescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 in the launch path, but in the steam launch path? or I should create another shortcut on desktop? Doing it in the steam path doesn't work, by the way ill try it creating the shortcut...

However, I dont know where's the game sett ini file... :S

I have retail version so im unsure about editing the launch path in steam. it was 3 plus years ago that i did all that so i dont really remember where i found it but if you use GOOGLE you should be able to find all the same sites with lots of info to help you out.

P.S it will take awhile as im sure you will find lots of people had the same problems
