Unhappy Game quits as soon as i start it

So whenever i go to open the game, it gives me the options window where i can choose my resolution and fullscreen or windowed. no matter what i seem to choose, be it windowed or fullscreen or any resolution, the game quits right after it opens after i click OK from the settings window. Some info on my setup:

AMD phenom 2 x4 955
ati radeon HD 5750, 1GB GDDR5

what could be happening, and has anyone else encountered this and have a fix?

Your system is perfectly fine to run this.
It sounds like a file is missing, try verifying the game.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and that seemed to do the trick. Must have been a corrupt file.

Im getting the same issue on one of my PCs. Anything I can try or any logs I can post that might help with diagnosing this?

Nevermind, sorted it. Was playing at work and there are no speakers plugged into my machine which seems to disable the sound card or something. It seems Gravitron crashes at startup if it cant initialize the sound engine. Plugging in headphones fixed it for me.....
